I’m Mary Jo, but you can call me MJ. Sure, I’m a Southern California wedding photographer who thrives in golden light, on windy hillsides, and anywhere laughter flows freely. But I’m also so much more!
On any given Friday night, you might find me riding my Harley with my husband, eating filet mignon in a Michelin-star restaurant wearing a new dress from Nordstrom, or kicking off my gold Rothy’s and enjoying a glass of bold cabernet in front of the fire in my cozy SoCal mountain home. The common thread here is adventure—I’m a sucker for anything that’s not “normal” and doesn’t put me in a box. I’m a doer, a dreamer, and a world traveler. I’m a go-with-the-flow gal who just wants to celebrate love through radiant, romantic photography. And I know that, if you’re here reading this, you just might feel the same way.
Throughout my time as a wedding photographer, I’ve learned that not everyone is as relaxed as I am on the wedding day. And that’s 100% okay! I’m here to bring calm to any chaos and be a voice of reason to any small squabbles brewing. I’ve seen it all, and I have a great track record of keeping everyone happy on the big day. Because sometimes we need a little knock in the head (not literally, of course!) to remind ourselves why we’re here in the first place: to celebrate the union of two people who are head-over-heels in love—more than any 90’s rom-com could do justice.
It doesn’t matter who you love—when you fall in love, or where you’re getting married. Location is no issue—I’m always flying around the world to travel, so why don’t I add your elopement to my itinerary? And age really is just a number—sometimes I swear I still feel like I’m 32 and just got married! I’ll definitely hit the dance floor with you like that’s the case, anyway, so look out! With over six years of photography experience under my belt, I have the wealth of knowledge you’re looking for with a vibrant, enthusiastic attitude that makes the whole thing that much more fun.

My Greatest Passion
What truly drew me into photography as a medium was the way it can capture human connection unlike anything else. I have a passion for meeting and serving new people—whether across the street or around the world—and this passion led me on one of the most exciting adventures I’ve ever had the pleasure to take. An adventure to Uganda.
Each year, I travel to a small town in Uganda where I’ve chosen to sponsor six children by paying for their schooling, nutrition, and medical expenses through an organization called Agape International Children Ministries. I’m always counting down the days until my next annual visit to stay at the local orphanage and spend time with the children there. So, if I’m unavailable for consultation calls for a two-week stretch, I’m probably exploring the bush or playing soccer in Africa!
I feel this is the single most rewarding thing I’ve had the opportunity to do, so I wanted to share it with you, too!
